Career

Vice President - Park Strategies, LLC, New York

Sean King is currently the Vice President of Park Strategies, LLC, a business and political advisory firm in New York City, New York. Sean King joined Park Strategies in 2006 and manages the firm's exploratory field office in Taipei, Taiwan.

Park Strategies was founded by former New York Senator Alfonse D'Amato, who started the company in 1998. Sean King had the opportunity to work with Alfonse D'Amato in the mid-1990s as a House File Production Manager, a position for which he coordinated the bidding process and managed the production and quality control of all direct marketing fundraising.

Since joining Park Strategies, Sean King has taken responsibility for the firm's business relationships with Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore, all of which Sean King has had experience working with throughout his career.

Senior Advisor - U.S. Department of Commerce, Washington D.C.

Before joining Park Strategies, Sean King served the U.S Department of Commerce as the Senior Advisor for Asia in the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service. In this position, Sean King attended over 30 Asia-related trade events and granted interviews to the local press. Over the course of a few years, Sean King traveled to mainland China as the advisor for several senior officials, including Governor John Hoeven of North Dakota, the former Secretary of Commerce Donald Evans, former New York State Governor George Pataki, and Marriott International, Inc. Chairman and CEO, J.W. Marriott, Jr. As a result of one of these excursions in June 2004, Sean King executed the U.S.-China Forum on Venture Capital & SMEs in Beijing and Shanghai.

Previous Experience

Prior to his time with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Sean King lived in Singapore, where he worked simultaneously for Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) and Citibank as an international business consultant.

Sean King's successes during this time of his life include the launching of a new credit card in Thailand, the creation of a trade finance strategic blueprint for the Southeast Asian government, and launching the Marketing Analysis Tracking Tool (MANTRA) database, which tracks marketing spends and profitability in 12 Asian markets. Sean King's experience with Citibank also includes a 1998 summer internship in Taipei, which was part of his MBA requirements at the University of Notre Dame.

Sean King has also worked for the New York State Department of Economic Development, for which he embarked on a trade mission to Taiwan in 1997 and began his field career as an international business consultant in the Asia region.
